Hi Folksies,
I am one of your new members though I have been drifting in and out like an electronic will o' the wisp for a good while. Time to make myself known. It seemed only polite after posting a blurb about my current project (The Slide Festival in January). A couple of times I did try to post a reply to the guy who heard St James Infirm'ry on the radio but didn't catch the name of the artist - my guess is that it was Snooks Eaglin from the Smithsonian album but I couldn't sort it. I'm not that great with IT. I am an old guy that plays a lot of slide. My tastes are broad. My involvement with the music started when my old man brought home a Ma Rainey 10inch LP and I heard Tampa Red for the first time. That was over 50 years ago and his stuff still puts a chill to my spine. I love the way that our music has grown and developed. I love to hear the young folks picking up the vibe and just making it their own. New leaves old roots. Cheers Perce |

Glad to have you with us. Since you play slide you should check out the Jam Session portion of the forum. It is where all the musicians get together and talk shop.
